Extreme Flight Extra 260 RXR maiden with canopy loss (Oops! my fault)
In the only 'low rate, nothing fancy' maiden I've ever done with any 3D plane, I lose my canopy as soon as I roll inverted. Not the best way to start a day. Good news is, the canopy was recovered, is just fine, and it isn't likely that I'll ever forget to double-check the pin engagement again :D

Same wing, dragged out of storage 9 years later, updated with a 3-blade prop and shortened rear gear for better ground AOA. HEY, the video isn't as shaky, and I got the landings this time :D Colton Clark at the sticks again. Check out Colton Clark R/C for more RC videos! @coltonclarkrc

A CCD collaboration. 102" wingspan, 60 class electric motor, 80A speed control, 14x7 APC prop, 6s 5000 battery. Needs a few minor tweaks before the next flight but it flies pretty sweet as is :) Servos are a little weak, blowing back at higher speeds, and the angle of attack when sitting on the ground isn't positive enough. Didn't have a Dremel at the field to shorten the gear legs, and as you ...

74" Extreme Flight Edge 540, powered by DA35 engine. Falcon 20x9 Carbon Fiber prop Jtec Small Pitts muffler 11lbs, 11oz before fuel. This is the second flight on the engine and airframe, so nothing too crazy. Colton Clark at the sticks. Can't wait to see it wrung out after the engine is broken in. Dennis thought he saw some flutter, but apparently not. Maybe the wheel pant... since it flew off ...

Colton getting a flight in on my 83" MXS from Extreme Flight... a 30cc-40cc class plane that I just "had" to stuff a DA50 in. I really, really wanted to love the 3-blade Biela 20x10, because it looks awesome up front... but it is very heavy, and just a dog of a prop for this application. I'll be changing it out very soon. Colton makes the best of it though. I'll have to let him fly it again wit...

Dennis having fun with his WWRC 50cc LamSuk Profile. Please excuse the audio. New-to-me camera, and apparently I was cupping the mic in such a way to perfectly capture and amplify my own breathing, just as loud as the engine, half the time. Oops! (Duly noted for future recordings!)
Colton Clark flying his Hiperbipe

Various video equipment and operator problems cost us some good footage... but at the end of the session we had a couple clips to share, at least. Colton was wringing out the HiperBipe better than I've seen done so far. Hate I missed the majority of the down on the deck stuff, but it is what it is. Enjoy!

Josh goes for one-wing glory, after his previous flight, where an incredible save, followed by another incredible save, followed by plowing into a hay bale at WOT, left his Primo missing one wing. The wind wasn't helping matters at all for this attempt.
Extreme Flight 60" Edge Maiden Flight

Maiden flight of a new-to-me 60" Extreme Flight Edge. Very short flight. Came in to add expo, which I had forgotten Zero expo made it just a tiny bit more twitchy than I like. Sweet flying plane though. Very happy with the maiden. Looking forward to learning harriers and hovering now :)

It's a Big Beautiful Floater.
I've been missing a red door to my decathlon for 4 months now! SMH i know your pain 😂
That thing is kick ass. I hope to see it in person soon. 💪
That is damn impressive! Well done!
I just realized there's a nice 4-point roll @7:32 which is about as good as you can get one on a wing. 😁
I'm more impressed by the weather....Weather that good shouldn't be allowed....🤔😳😏🇬🇧
This field is often plagued by all sorts of wind 'weirdness' but it was a truly gorgeous day last Saturday for sure.
Wish I had a runway. Look at that glide angle! It is a great rc plane.
I wish I had a flying field!!!
Man That field has really grown up. I thought i seen someone say a while back someone was cutting some of the trees down and the field was closed while they were doing it. Must been behind the others where they cleared. Ive not been up there in years Glad you found the canopy.. i hate when they blow off.
I know they had someone cut all the brush that grows up every couple years at the edge of the runway. I do believe they've taken a few of the trees out in front and to the right... but the ones at the ends will always be there. The ones out in front of us, they are definitely getting taller, and I'd love to see about 20-30 more of those disappear. :)
WOW, I was shocked that this was up on my youtube page when i opened it. Very cool. i watched the other video not all that long ago when i was looking for some DCAM videos.
Yeah, I started back flying, every now and then, a few weeks ago. I remembered I had a gopro in the car and figured I'd get some video of 'something' and this seemed like a likely suspect.
Mega wing! Starting my own large wing build rn. Just kinda using what I've got laying around . Do you have a breakdown of your build?
Unfortunately, no. I supplied the initial idea and the foam, motor and ESC, Colton designed it, adding retracts, and Dennis nailed the actual build. All I can say for sure is that it breaks down into three pieces, held with nylon 1/4"x20 bolts, and it has a carbon fiber wing tube from a 78" extra for stiffness. It's a very sweet flying wing.
That thing could carry a small child! Great video!
Thanks! The original intent was for it to carry three smaller wings, one up top, two underneath. I think Dennis already built the release cradles for them... but we were never able to make it happen.
If I had a dollar for every time someone said "You can carry a small dog/cat/child in that plane" back in the days when I flew RC, I would have a few more dollars today ha ha. I seriously doubt the parents of the child or child services would look kindly at putting a child in an RC plane and neither should any animal lovers or decent people ha ha. If you want something to carry someone, human or animal, make it big enough to carry yourself ha ha. I know you're joking, I just had to mention you're not alone in your comment.
Is there a build video or info or plans to go off of...?
No, Colton designed it, and Dennis built it. I know Dennis had lots of notes on it, at one time, but there was never any formal build instruction or plans or anything like that... I don't think any of us even thought about that. It was just a silly idea I had, that these guys brought to reality. 😁
i thought the concept of a flying wing was an aircraft that doesn't require vertical fins to fly
They're definitely not required. More to give a bit of side area to be able to do things like 4-point rolls. (Late in this second video: ruclips.net/video/aelqy6iIC0Y/видео.htmlsi=Jzjo8AqusKYspkZz) Quite honestly, they are more for protecting the wingtips than anything else... and to provide a bit more authority to the elevons in slower flight. But yeah, it would fly fine without them.
@@dcamchris thank you for your answer
That is an amazing aircraft and an even better pilot. I hope to be that good some day man.
I love the retracts great idea, it makes me want a wing just like it, I see bombs drop in the future.
I want one now
Absolutely smashing
do you by any chance know what airfoil they used?
Love it so much, good job mate
I observed the behavior of this device in the air twice. In a word, this can be expressed as harmony. You have managed to create something that is in balance, very docile and with little drag.
Are you still alive
Why on earth are people still flying LOS? Put a camera on there!
From rc cars to i think planes now. My god that is so cool.
Can you give me its plan?
What's the AUW of this beast and is there plans available?
They don't like to quit flying do they?
couldnt even record the landing..you had one job
Yeah, yeah, I know... second attempt at video went a bit better. 😁 ruclips.net/video/aelqy6iIC0Y/видео.htmlsi=Jzjo8AqusKYspkZz
this type of plane is very eficient in therms of enegy consume. Soo how much cocaine can take off? haha
How heavy was this plane in the air?
Hey I'm building 114'' wing, how much weight is yours ? thanks
Man thats cool
Hi, nice flight! I have the same plane with DA-50r inside. I'm finish to mount it the last week, I don't do the maiden yet. What propeller do you use? And what do you do to balance the plane, concern the CG? The landing i'ts OK? Thanks!
Poor motor. Not much thinking went into this
What?
4:48... nice camera work dude -.-'
i am doing a similar build. great vid too.
Is that the landing gear is controlled by servo motor...?
Very nice job. I have a 47 CC gas motor ready for a giant balsa wood scratch built project. Any way to get the plans ?
Like a shukoi
This engine almost seems superior to DLE? I definitely like the one i saw because it was round and looked smaller( lighter) than other models lol
Where is the CG in this plane .....please tell...
Yes pleasssseee telll
OuCh! I know this is a old video but I just now seeing it, I sure hate to see that for Joe new plane hope it was fixable and hope he flew it again. remember guys when your low and slow use that rudder. Hurts me to see one of my old students crashing.
The chord of that wing, and the weight and size... That thing just wants to float, and the motor can't push it any faster than it is. Fly it on a day with enough of a breeze, and it could hover or VTOL.
Lol yea
DA PROXIMA VEZ ARRUMA UM CINEGRAFISTA DE PRIMEIRA LINHA,,, KKK
Awesome
Legend has it the birds are still complaining about the noise...
Cool. Can you tell what profile you used?
thanks for posting. nice work. here is a very very very late thought. the prop noise suggests, to me, that the Wrong TYPE of prop is being used. is it s-f. s-f stands for Slow-flyer. almost No one builds slow-flyers. Invest in some E props. cheers
What is that weird glare or object right of the plane at 1 minute in 58 seconds into the video
ayy lmao
Whoa. Had to slow it down to see that. The truth is out there? lol!
Looks like a b2 stealth bomber I like with the gear on it I got a rc flying wing and I fly it with no gear fly's quite powerful
Awesome flying and great wing :)
